How To Use FOX Hard Gel
Prepare The Nails: Prepare and buff the nails, then apply nail prep. For best results, we recommend F.O.X Nail Prep as it helps material adhere more effectively to the nail. Next, apply F.O.X Ultrabond, an acid-free primer, for more adhesion. Then, add a layer of any elastic base (either F.O.X Power Base or F.O.X Rubber Base) and rub it in. Cure the nails in a 36W UV lamp for 1 minute or a 36/48W LED/UV lamp for 30 seconds.
Nail Extension with Hard Gel: First, select the appropriate Dual Form size for each nail, then fill the Dual Form with F.O.X Hard Gel in an even layer. Press the Dual Form onto the nail gently, and remove any excess gel around the edges. If you use a 36W UV lamp, cure for 2-3 minutes, but if it’s a 36/48W LED/UV lamp, cure the nails for 2-4 minutes. Lastly, remove the Dual Form carefully to reveal the hardened gel structure on the nail.
File and shape the nail as needed.
Strengthening Nails:
Use F.O.X Hard Gel as an overlay to strengthen natural nails. Apply two coats for a smooth and strong protective layer. Cure after each coat in a 36W UV lamp for 1 minute or a 36/48W LED/UV lamp for 30 seconds.
Removal: File off the gel using a hand file or a nail drill.
Frequently Asked Questions
Should I Use F.O.X Nails Hard Gels Or Builder Gels?
F.O.X Nails Hard Gels are meant for strength and creating long-lasting extensions, which is excellent for clients with weak nails. They’re usually more rigid and must be filled with a nail drill or hand file to remove them.
F.O.X builder gels are strong and rigid, thicker than hard gels. They are used for overlays and nail extensions, but due to their thickness, they require slower application
Builder gels also self-level more slowly than hard gels.
Can Hard Gel Be Soaked Off?
No, F.O.X Hard gels can't be soaked off. Due to the materials used, they can only be removed by filling with a nail drill or hand file.
Why Does Hard Gel Peel Off?
Although this is not normal, there are a few reasons your hard gel might peel off. These may include:
Improper nail prepping (or the old layer wasn’t removed)
- The lamp isn’t working properly
- Wrong or too thick base coating
- The client’s constant contact with harsh chemicals
- Using the wrong products
Prevent your polish from peeling by using products from F.O.X Nails.
